A bridge is a dental appliance that replaces missing teeth. They are available in porcelain and porcelain bonded to metal (reinforced). A denture is a great solution if a bridge or implants are not suitable. There are two main types; plastic and metal framed dentures. All are bespoke.
Do you have grey or fractured fillings? When fillings break down due to decay or cracks, they can be replaced with tooth coloured resin type fillings to achieve a brighter, healthier smile. The old filling and decay are safely removed and the tooth restored with composite.
Do you have bleeding gums or a yellow build up on teeth? You may have gum (periodontal) disease. The signs include; redness, bleeding, pain and mobile teeth. If left untreated it could lead to tooth loss. Hygienists are specially trained to help treat this problem.
Toothache or dental abcess? When the nerve in your tooth dies and becomes infected it needs to be removed. We anaesthetise the tooth, remove the nerve, clean and then disinfect the root system. The tooth is then filled and sealed to prevent further bacterial infection.
Sometimes there is no solution but to remove a tooth; especially if there is a root fracture, the nerve is dead and you don't want a root canal treatment, space is required to straighten your teeth or you are planning to have a dental implant. "Relaxing gas" sedation is available.
Are you a nervous patient or do you have a strong gag reflex? Rest assured, you are not alone. Nitrous Oxide "laughing gas" sedation is safe, helps you relax, easy to use and confidence building. Unlike IV sedation you are not asleep, but relaxed and recovery time is minimal.
